Live-out help
She has her own home and comes to yours. Simpler boundaries, and a different set of things to agree.
Live-out suits households without a maid's room, families who would rather keep the house to themselves in the evening, and helpers who have their own family in the UAE. The boundary problem largely disappears, and a transport problem takes its place.
The two things that decide whether it works are the commute and the hours. A helper travelling ninety minutes each way will be tired before she starts and will eventually leave, however good the arrangement otherwise is.
What the work involves
- Fixed daily hours, agreed and kept to
- A commute that is realistic in Dubai traffic, and who pays for it
- What happens on days you need her earlier or later
- Keys, access and what she does if nobody is home
- Whether lunch is provided
